Orpheus and Eurydice, or the search for one’s lost soul

Here is a gallery of art works inspired by the myth of Orpheus, the divine musician, and Eurydice, the lover he attempted to rescue from the underworld, after she died from the bite of a poisonous snake.
It may serve as a reminder of those times when we all need to travel in the dark recesses of our psyche to rescue the love, soul, joy we have lost.
Having started with just thirty images that I had already in my laptop, I ended up with 147, and I’ve been choosy or I could have collected many more; proof of the popularity of this mythical theme of love and loss.
